      Growing up in trinidad and tobago is a unique experience and the foods there are definitely #1 compared to a lot of other islands. When I first moved to the USA, I was not all that concerned with trying to find the foods since there was a place for roti near our house, and you can find most of those ingredients in Miami/5(38). The best time to visit Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival is the week before Carnival Monday and Tuesday. There are many cultural shows and parties (fetes) which take place weeks before the actual street parades on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Most are held on weekends and there are listings of these events circulating in the daily newspapers.

    As a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago I would not advise any tourist to visit Trinidad & Tobago. Crime is out of control, with a detection rate of below 3% and the authorities seems clueless about crime detection and convictions. Fed-up Trini said 3 years ago.
